JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) is a worldwide standard for measuring the proficiency of the Japanese Language of the native and non-native speakers. The learner must attain a combined reading/vocabulary/grammar score of at least 120 out of 180 and a listening score at least 60 of 80. The grading of the JLPT is based on a test theory called Item Response Theory (IRT).
